This is how I work
Hello,
here I am again :)
Today, I want to show you how I work, so my process for watercolor paintings, as well as how I create my patterns.

Most of the time, I paint at a table in my room where everything is always ready so that I can start right away when I have some time, even if it's just 5 minutes, and I don't have to search for all my materials in the shelf.
But I also enjoy painting on the go, usually in a small sketchbook that I can easily take with me.
Since I find motifs from nature particularly interesting, I usually take my own reference photos, so the images that I use as inspiration. That's why I often have a camera with me on walks or hikes.

Most of the time, I use watercolours for painting, but occasionally I also work with gouache, ink, or felt-tip pens (my favorite being the Sketcher by Molotow).
When I want to turn a motif into a pattern or a postcard, I scan the image. Then, on the computer, I prepare it so that I can print the motif or start creating patterns.
For pattern creation, I arrange the motifs in a file so that they seamlessly repeat when put together. For all these processes, I use Affinity as software.
